In January 2021, American Express GBT Meetings & Events supported a world-leading technology client with their annual global meeting for 500 of their top managers.

RESULTS

The client gave phenomenal feedback, asking American Express GBT Meetings & Events to deliver two more events across the year including their particularly important upcoming General Assembly event.

Delivered as a virtual experience, the event incorporated six plenary sessions led by the CEO and Group Management Committee, a live interview with Moderna’s CEO, three pre-recorded masterclass sessions and an exhibition where attendees could discover additional content and network with key experts.  With the objective to deliver the strategy for the year ahead, it was integral that the event set-up would allow for rich interactions and that the format would give attendees a deep knowledge of any future challenges and potential growth levers.

The Meetings & Events team built a dedicated web platform with an integrated registration system that would act as a portal for all live streams of the plenary sessions and the workshops. They designed and animated an immersive 3D virtual exhibition that had interactive booths for the internal business units. The team managed all the rehearsals plus handling all video production of the pre-recorded and the live sessions across the three-day event, whilst also coaching the speakers both onsite and remotely to present confidently in their sessions. The team sourced a venue that housed an impressive stage set-up with a 12m x 2.5m panoramic screen, able to immerse the speakers in different digital backgrounds throughout their sessions, creating a more engaging environment for the managers to learn. The Meetings & Events team also worked closely with the AV crew to create a TV-like experience for attendees with three fixed-and-rail system cameras. The exhibition hall was designed to provide a highly valuable area for the attendees to network, have one-on-one chats, and deepen their knowledge about the strategy for the year ahead.
