London – January 10, 2022 – American Express Global Business Travel (GBT), the world’s leading B2B travel platform, has appointed Rachel Tonge as UK Vice President & General Manager.
In her new role, Tonge will lead the return of business travel in the UK by overseeing GBT’s business operations and strengthening customer relationships. She will report to EMEA Senior Vice President & General Manager, Jason Geall.

Tonge has been with GBT for five years, most recently as Director of Strategic Transformation, which included a key role in the acquisition and integration of Egencia, refreshing GBT’s go-to-market strategy, and leading the development of GBT Partner Solutions.
With a background in business management at GBT and management consulting at Accenture, she brings leadership, strategic and commercial acumen, as well as operational and people focus to the role. Tonge has worked across multiple industries, including travel, energy and international development, and has a Master’s degree in International Business and Management from Manchester Business School.
