  1. What does International Women’s Day (IWD) mean to you?

IWD recognizes the achievements of women throughout the world, whether it is running for office, making a scientific discovery, taking a seat in a boardroom or being a mother.  While IWD should be honoured every day, March 8 is a day that we can mark to look back and celebrate our successes and continue to challenge each other to make the world a better place for the future.  #BalanceforBetter.

  1. What’s one barrier that you have you faced, as a woman, in becoming successful in your field/industry? How did you overcome it?

I believe I speak for many women when I say that we face barriers on a continuous basis every day.  Everything from equal pay to equal say.  How do we overcome these barriers?  We do so by first identifying and becoming aware of unconscious biases or actions that may hold us back, then finding mentors and sponsors, both men and women, seeking out trusted support networks, reading inspirational literature and striving to establish your voice every day.

  1. What is the driving force behind everything you do…what keeps you motivated and driven daily?

Everything is about passion and dreams.  Turning everything I do into a passion and a dream motivates me daily and pushes me towards achieving new goals.

  1. What advice would you give someone looking to start working in the business travel industry?

Business travel is exciting, glamorous and rewarding.  Business travel is about getting visibility and exposure to customers and executive management, doing business in different countries with cultures from all around the world and growing both professionally and personally.

If you believe that progress is made through connecting people and building relationships, then the business travel industry will be a great place for you.

  1. Lastly, what three skills do you think are essential to be a great leader?

The humility to listen, a good moral and ethical foundation and care for your people.
