According to this year’s Global Business Travel Forecast, 2018 will be a strong year for corporate travel worldwide. The outlook looks bright as economic conditions continue to strengthen, and growing business and consumer confidence translates into increased demand for travel.
The pickup in demand should be broad-based across all regions but will be particularly strong in Asia, where China and India spent last year competing for the title of the fastest-growing major economy. The eurozone also should see notable demand as it looks to build off its unexpectedly strong gains in 2017.
We expect hotel and air prices seeing an upward movement. However, the large influx of new supply in many regions will help limit rate increases, with only slight to moderate growth expected globally. Car rental also will increase slightly after years of flat or negative growth.
