New non-stop Qantas flights to Australia
Travelers can now book non-stop flights from Chicago and San Francisco to Brisbane, with fares for the new Qantas flights on sale now.
The announcement follows the US Department of Transportation’s (DOT) final approval of Qantas’ joint business with American Airlines.
Chicago flights will begin on April 15, 2020, operating four times per week. By flying direct, Qantas customers will save more than six hours on a round trip trip compared with today. The service also opens up a new Qantas gateway for Americans into Australia, with access to onward destinations across Qantas’ extensive domestic network.
San Francisco flights will begin on February 9, 2020 and operate three times per week, complementing Qantas’ existing flights to Sydney and Melbourne and offering customers the choice of double daily Dreamliner services from the popular Californian city to Australia’s east coast.
The new routes will be operated by Qantas’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering next generation seating and built-in jet lag reducing features. The aircraft features 236 seats across three cabins including the Business Suite, nicknamed “mini First Class” by some frequent flyers, as well as a next generation Premium Economy seat and a significantly improved Economy seat with extra storage compartments and device charging outlets.
