AMerican express meetings & Events NAMED TO

THE 8TH ANNUAL MEETINGSNET “CMI 25” LIST

Managed The Most Corporate Meetings And Incentive Travel Programs In 2013

NEW YORK, NY, October 8, 2014 – American Express Meetings & Events has been named to MeetingsNet’s 2014 “CMI 25” list, the 8th annual directory of the largest and most influential full-service meeting and incentive travel management companies focused on the U.S. corporate meetings and incentives industry. According to the list, American Express Meetings & Events managed the highest number of corporate meetings and incentive travel programs, accounting for 62% and 38% of the totals reported by the CMI 25, respectively, an increase of 14% and 15% from last year. American Express Meetings & Events also had the most rooms booked for meetings in 2013, responsible for 42% overall and up 4% from last year.

With more than 40 years in the industry and operations in more than 50 countries, American Express Meetings & Events offers best-in-class capabilities, from program implementation to optimization, to deliver powerful meeting experiences around the globe. It helps clients achieve business results, maximize saving opportunities, and gain greater visibility into their meeting spend and activity.

“American Express Meetings & Events is proud to be named to the ‘CMI 25’ list for the eighth year in a row,” said Issa Jouaneh, Vice President and General Manager, American Express Meetings & Events. “Over the last year, we have incorporated new technologies and partnerships – including our virtual and hybrid meetings offering through NASDAQ OMX Corporate Solutions and our collaboration with i-Meet, an online business community for meeting professionals – to meet the needs of today’s planners and attendees, who want to use digital platforms and social media to enhance their meetings experience and drive a better return on their investment.”

“Moreover, in addition to ensuring that our clients’ own brands and objectives are reflected in their meetings program, we are able to provide insights for companies subject to increasingly complex regulatory and compliance requirements to help them avoid unnecessary risk. As our clients continue to globalize, we have partnered with them to deliver effective and relevant local solutions around the world while remaining consistent with global policy and direction.”

The CMI 25 list is a key resource for meeting managers, incentive travel executives, and procurement professionals researching information on the industry’s leading outsource partners. MeetingsNet’s editors selected CMI 25 companies based on several factors, including the number of meetings and incentive travel programs managed in 2013 and the total number of room nights represented by those meetings and incentives. They also considered the number of full-time employees at each company, as well as the percentage of the company’s 2013 revenues that came from organizing corporate meetings and incentives, versus association meetings or other sources.

“In total, the CMI 25 drove 9.1 million group room nights in 2013, an increase of about 7 percent over 2012. These independent meeting planning companies play a significant role in the U.S. meetings economy, last year orchestrating 68,652 corporate meetings and 4,241 incentive travel programs around the world. We’re seeing exciting growth in these industry leaders, with an uptick in acquisitions, partnerships, and technology adoption. Corporations look to them for creativity, experience, and, often, their meeting technology know-how,” said MeetingsNet’s Editor Sue Hatch. “The CMI 25 is the most comprehensive listing of the largest independent meeting managers serving the corporate world.”

The CMI 25 list was published in the September 2014 issue of the MeetingsNettablet magazine (http://meetingsnet.com/app-registration) and onwww.meetingsnet.com.
