PREMIER INSIGHTS offers actionable intelligence and explicit recommendations to streamline travel management —

New York, NY, July 18, 2016 – American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) today announced the launch of PREMIER INSIGHTS, a data visualization tool, which provides companies and their travel managers with a complete view of their travel program to drive greater efficiencies, improvements and savings. The tool integrates American Express® Corporate Cards and travel booking data into a single platform, providing companies and their travel managers with access to a comprehensive, single-source view of their entire travel program.

Historically, aggregating booking and spend data has posed challenges for travel managers. For companies using multiple reporting platforms, it can be difficult to break down program performance data by division, incorporate new sources of incoming data and recommend areas to prioritize. PREMIER INSIGHTS offers a simple way to consolidate and analyze travel data. Through its intuitive and easy-to-use interface, the tool offers clear and concise metrics to highlight and prioritize potential savings opportunities, enabling travel managers to take action and drive accountability across their companies.

“Intelligent travel program management is only possible when companies and their travel managers understand how their employees consume travel and the financial impact of their usage,” said Christine Ourmières-Widener, Chief Global Sales Officer, American Express Global Business Travel. “We created PREMIER INSIGHTS to centralize everything that can impact the efficiency of a travel program, allowing travel managers to spend less time pulling data and more time enhancing their travelers’ experiences. As a result, they can engage in smarter decision-making, drive program efficiencies and achieve cost savings.”

“This new platform was developed as a departure from the manual ways travel managers used to access and pull data,” added Christophe Tcheng, Vice President, Core Products and Platform Architecture, American Express Global Business Travel. “As part of our larger technology investment, we built this solution from the ground up using big data and predictive analytics to reinvent how travel managers make decisions about their travel program.”

Identify Savings Opportunities

Through PREMIER INSIGHTS, travel managers can assess program leakage (areas where travelers book outside their company’s policy) and determine potential savings opportunities by calculating the amount that could be saved if a traveler showed an increase or decrease in certain behaviors. By using the tool’s capabilities and sliding scales, travel managers can experiment with different scenarios before policy changes and decisions are made, to discover new ways to save and assess their performance compared to industry peers and other companies with similar travel volumes.

Save Time and Reduce Manual Efforts

With industry-leading analytical capabilities, PREMIER INSIGHTS integrates card and travel data in one place, allowing travel managers to fully maximize their time spent evaluating travel and spend data and quickly determine how well their program objectives are achieved. Companies can access at-a-glance summaries or in-depth reports of their entire travel program conveniently within the tool, along with supplier-specific information and explicit savings recommendations.

Assess Performance and Influence Behavior

PREMIER INSIGHTS incorporates key elements of a company’s travel policy, enabling travel managers to view, track and compare their own travel programs and determine how specific business units and individuals are performing. Travel managers can track and influence employee compliance by examining their company’s performance assessments to see how they measure against established policies and compare these assessments against other industries. This data can be viewed by a company’s relationship with suppliers, geography, business unit or at the employee level. By accessing and filtering specific traveler data, companies are able to streamline how they manage their travel program.

PREMIER INSIGHTS is currently available in more than 20 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. The tool is expected to integrate other corporate card types and booking data into the platform later this year.
