New York, NY, August 7, 2015 – American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) congratulates Susan Lichtenstein, Director of Global Travel at Cisco, on being named the 2015 Best Practitioner by Business Travel News. GBT and Cisco’s travel partnership began nearly two decades ago. Susan was honored for her ability to introduce new ways to approach corporate travel hotel contracts based on hotel revenue needs rather than client volume commitments. Susan received the award at BTN’s 30th annual Travel Manager of the Year reception held on Tuesday, July 28 at the GBTA Convention in Orlando, Florida.

As Director of Global Travel at Cisco, Susan manages both the Procurement and Operations of the Company’s global travel spend across more than 120 countries worldwide.  With her extensive background in the Travel and Meetings industry and over 20 years of work experience within the corporate markets, Susan has proven her ability to lead and enhance travel programs over the course of her career.

“All across the globe, travel leaders play a pivotal role in advancing a company’s travel program and enhancing the travel experience for their employees,” said Melissa Beauchamp, Vice President, Global Client Group, American Express Global Business Travel.  “Susan is no exception as she has demonstrated her keen ability to seek innovative approaches that drive greater efficiencies when it comes to the hotel contract process.  We are proud to commend our customer, Cisco, and more specifically, Susan and her entire Travel Team, on receiving this honor by Business Travel News.”
