GBT Earns 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Fourteenth Annual Scorecard on LGBT Workplace Equality

New York, NY, November 18, 2015 – American Express Global Business Travel “GBT” proudly announced today that it has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. GBT joins the ranks of 407 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.

JoAnne Kruse, Chief Human Resources Officer, American Express Global Business Travel, said:

“As a leading travel management company servicing customers and travelers from around the world, we understand the importance of developing and fostering an inclusive and diverse culture.  We recognize that a mix of backgrounds, opinions and talents enriches our company and helps us better deliver on our commitments to our stakeholders.  We strive to maintain the great experience of an inclusive workplace where employee differences, such as gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability, are valued and leveraged for individual, business and organizational success.”

“We are proud to have recently launched a new LGBTQ Network Group, allowing our employees whom identify as LGBTQ to network with their local and international colleagues. Externally, GBT also supports the engagement of diverse suppliers on an equal basis with other suppliers.”

HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program Director Deena Fidas said: “In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership. American Express Global Business Travel not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values. »

The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. GBT’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
