Survey respondents for the 2023 Global Meetings and Events Forecast were like-minded about where the industry is headed, but a few questions pointed to distinct differences for the Asia-Pacific region.

Aligned with global responses, meeting professionals in the Asia-Pacific region are positive about the health of the industry in 2023. Almost three-quarters (74%) said they would rank themselves an eight or higher on a scale of one to ten measuring optimism levels for the industry, and 68% believe their career options are good to excellent – up from 58% in 2022.

The year to come for the Asia-Pacific region is surely to be an exciting one. A meeting owner in Asia Pacific shared, “I am most excited about a better on-site experience, using high technology to achieve sustainable development of enterprises.”

Asia Pacific is the region with the lowest percentage of in-person-only meetings (37% vs. 49%-62% in other regions) so this caution likely reflects the region’s stricter restrictions regarding travel.
